Here at Healing Hearts alpacas, we have been very busy making fiber products, taking our alpacas to events for education, and watching our newest cria grow. Patience is now almost 6 months old and almost 64 lbs. Before long her sweet mom , Sally, will be weaning this big girl that we call Patience. She is by far one of the sweeties and softest alpacas on our farm. We are very proud of her dad's first cria, Regal Raymond passed on his color to this special girl.
If you have never attended a Alpaca show and you live in the North Caroina area new Concord, please stop in and say hi. The show will be Feb. 18 & 19th 2017 at the Cabarrus Arena, and it is FREE!!!! There will be many vendors and fiber related activities to see and most important is all the sweet hummers we call alpacas!
We have been to many events so far, and more to come. Keep up on these events and where you can see us and our alpacas at, by visiting our Face Book page, " Healing Hearts Alpacas". As the leaves fall from the trees, and the cool crisp air comes in, the alpacas are getting really fuzzy and full of excitement as Thanksgiving and Christmas get closer and closer. What a wonderful time of the year it is.

A Alpaca Girl that is. On Mother's Day we were blessed with a 20 pound Cria. So full of spirit and spunk, this is Regal Raymonds first cria on the ground, so we are pleased as punch that she looks like her father! In just two days she has gained 2 pounds so mom's milk is rich and full of nutrients to help her grow stronger with each new day! Her name is Patience, since she was a late baby, her mom almost carried to a full year, and we all waited and waited...well you get the picture ! All great things come in time, so we learned how to be Patient. May 8th,2016 is a special day in deed for us at Healing Hearts Alpacas. What a gift from Heaven. Callisto's Salome is a true black with a sweet milk nose and is such a great mommy.

We wanted to say thank you to everyone that came out to support the 10th Anniversary Alpaca show! It was non stop fun and excitement, even when a little Suri alpaca in the show ring decided to break free and run wild, but not for long, due to our event staff ready to spring into action and surround this little one, his flight was short lived! I will be posting photos of this great event soon so check back often to see the updates. I am proud to say that I purchased my first Drop spindle from Cherry Run Alpacas and I am hooked. I have been raising Alpacas for only 3 years and I am ready to tackle the fiber arts . I am enjoying making Hand Wet Felted with Alpaca fiber, Soaps , which is like having a soft washcloth and soap all in one. The fiber will keep your soap longer! I am makeing wine bottle holders also, which will keep a chilled bottle of your favorite Vino cold up to 4 hours. These are not only functional, but also a piece of Fiber Art. I am hand knitting hats and making dryer balls that will cut drying time in half without fabric softner! So as you can see I am not only busy with the up keep of the animals on our mini farm but learning from other fiber artist and crafters on how to make wonderful products out of the fleece that is shorn once a year from our sweet alpaca's. And it is all from the HEART.
